List of Things that I Will Do at Home

1. Play computer games.
I usually play computer games for 30 minutes a day, but I could not play for a month. I guess I'll see my computer turned on right after my arrival at my house!
2. Eat my mom's food.
I have been in GLPS for a month, and I didn't even get to eat food that my mother made! I hope her cooking skills improved --;;
3 Study for a brief time.
I have been studying the whole month! Well, the school starts right after camp, so I should be prepared!
4. Tell my stories in GLPS to my parents (and some of my friends)
I have been calling my parents regularly, but that hadn't been enough. I have tons of stories!
5. Watch TV!
I didn't watch TV for a month! I miss it... I guess I will be watching all my favorite programms that were broadcasted during January on internet.

I hope I will have a chance to do all of these things on the checklist!

I Won Third Place in the Amazing Quest!

Today in the advisor time, I was told a very happy information. Ms. Hughey (future Mrs. Reardon) told us that we had won the Amazing Quest. Our team thought that we would never win the game and played around. I even rolled in the snow hopelessly, but what a surprise! We got some snack for reward, and we divided the reward. It looked as if there was a lot at first, but  I only got 3 choco pies and one chip after dividing. But it was fun!

Steve Jobs Commencement Speech at Stanford

I don't think I mentioned, but Steve Jobs is my idol, along with Bill James (a famous sports analyst). I listened to one of his speeches, and I was impressed. Here is my opinion and summary of the speech.

Steve Jobs Commencement Speech
at Stanford University

Steve Jobs is currently the CEO of the Apple Company and The Pixar. He was never a college graduate, and didnt have parents that were successful. His biological mother was an unwed college student.
In this speech, Jobs mentions three stories in his life. The first one is about connecting the dots. When Steve Jobs was a 6-month student in the Reed College, where the college tuition was very expensive, he thought that the college was not important and had no idea why it was important. So he decided to drop out. Instead of taking required lessons, he took the classes that sounded interesting to him.
The lesson he took was calligraphy. At the time, the Reed College was offering the best calligraphy in the country. After 10 years, when he was designing the Macintosh, it came clear to him-you cannot connect the dots looking forward, but looking backwards.
The next story is about love and loss. His friend and Jobs started the company in his parents garage, but after 5 years, the Apple Company was grown to a 2-billion-dollar-company with 4000 employees. The company was going well without any huge problems, but suddenly, the company was falling. So the Board of Directors fired their CEO.
After that, Jobs apologized to the Packard and Noyce. Jobs was back to work. Then, he founded the two companies named NeXT and Pixar. He decided to start his career over again, and everything went well.
Then he says, You have to find what you love to do. Dont settle, keep finding.
The last story was about death. When he was 17 years old, he read a quote that said If you live each day as if it was your last, someday youll most certainly be right, and then every morning, he looked into the mirror and asked himself, if it was the last day of his life, he would want to do it. If the answer was no for the many days in a row, he would reschedule him.
He had pancreatic cancer about a year ago. He was the closest to death. But his cancer was in a rare form, which could be cured. So he got surgery and now he is fine.
No one wants to die, but they have to. Everyones time is limited; so dont live the other ones life and dont waste time. You have to follow your heart and intuition. You find the thing that you like and can do well. The work is going to be a big part of your life, so live your life.
     Stay hungry, stay foolish.

The Inconvenient Truth: Documentary by Al Gore

I'm here with Al Gore's exclusive documantary: The Inconvenient Truth. Al Gore is a famous environmentalist who was U.S.'s vice president under Bill Clinton. This is the summary.

The Inconvenient Trut

The global warming is an environmental issue, which is occurring on the Earth now. The main reason of global warming is the Greenhouse Effect, which occurs because of the Earths atmospheres thickening. Carbon Dioxide is the main problem; when the earth absorbs and heat from the Sun, some bounces back and goes back to the space. Then the layer of the atmosphere traps the heat back around the earth.
When the atmosphere is not thick enough to trap most of the heat going back, it is better because it keeps the earths temperature warm, not  hot. But the greenhouse effect happens because the atmosphere is too thick, due to the overuse of the machineries and other technologies.
People think the global warming is only dangerous because if its severe, the climate is going to get so hot and glaciers, usually in the high mountains or territories near the North/South poles, are going to melt. This is going to make the oceans surface about 20 feet higher and many major cities near the beaches will be underwater, including Beijing, New York City, New Orleans, San Francisco, Calcutta, and the whole Netherlands.
It is not the wrong guess, but more serious thing is that the global warming will also help the ocean currents to cool themselves near the Greenland. The reason makes this serious is the possibility of the Ice Age. The cooled ocean currents will cool the oceans, which can occur the 8th Ice Age in the last 650,000 years.
If you look at the graph that represents how much Carbon Dioxide there is in the atmosphere, you will easily recognize that the Carbon Dioxide increase and decrease every year. Its because of the spinning of the Earth itself and around the Sun which changes every seasons, spring, summer, autumn, and winter. The Northern Hemisphere, once face the Sun and once stands by back to the Sun. Starting from spring and until the starting of the autumn, Carbon Dioxide increases. But from autumn to the ending of the winter, Carbon Dioxide decreases. But still, in total, the Carbon Dioxide is increasing every year, which means every year, the climate is increasing.
There is not only the way to use and send Carbon Dioxide into the air, but the way to reduce it, too. If we use renewable resources, recycle, use hybrid cars, use massive transits, and turn off your electricity when you can, the Carbon Dioxide will decrease and the air will be even with the 1970s. Since the United States of Americas using approximately 30 percentage of Carbon Dioxide of the world, which is more than Asia, EU, and South America all added, if the U.S.A. government turns its favor to the clean environment, we can make the atmosphere 30percent cleaner.
I hope that in result, the Earth is green and healthy after the humanity's effort to save the environment. If so, the humanity wuill realize the importance of the Earth and try to keep it green for the whole time.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series: Movie and Book Compare and Contrast

Percy Jackson & the Olympians

Percy Jackson is a normal boy who lives in upper Manhattan. Actually, he isn’t in many ways. He has ADHD, dyslexia, and got expelled from every school he attended. His mother always told him that his father was dead, and married a smelly person named Gabe Ugliano. His best friend is a boy named Grover, who always was the target of bullying. One day, in school field trip, he goes to Metropolitan Art museum. During the trip, his algebra teacher, Ms. Dodds, suddenly calls Percy for a conversation. However, during the ‘conversation,’ Ms. Dodds suddenly turns into a demon and tries to kill Percy.
Mr. Brunner, the Greek Mythology teacher, heard it and came. He advised Percy’s mother to a safe place; the Half-Blood Camp. Percy’s mother drove with Gabe’s Camaro, along the coastline. Percy also found out that his best friend, Grover, was a half goat. They find a hill, where there’s a pine tree. Just in front of it, Percy’s mother gets captured by the Minotaur, and dissolves. Being so angry about his mother’s death (he thought), he kills the Minotaur.
Tired and exhausted, Percy finds himself in the cabin, with some kind of liquid poured in to his mouth. It tasted like his mother’s chocolate chip cookies. It reminded him of his mother. When he is guided through the camp, he is surprised to find out that the Greek Gods were real. He must have also been a son of a god. He was assigned to Hermes cabin. It was the cabin that had the most people, since every undetermined half-blood was all assigned to Hermes’s cabin, who was the god of travelers. The counselor of the cabin was Luke Castellan, who was Hermes’s claimed son.
The next day, he plays in a sport called capture the flag. The flag of the other team was in the other side of forest. When he is resting under a tree, he finds the flag and tries to capture it. Just before taking the flag, Annabeth, a counselor from Athena’s cabin, attacks him. Percy gets injured so severely that he couldn’t even stand up. Instantly, a voice talks in his head that he should get to the water. When he touches the water, his wounds get all healed up and he gets power. He beats the opponent with skillful movements with his sword, and takes the flag.
Now, he was claimed as Poseidon’s son, the God of Sea. He was sent to Poseidon cabin. Mr. Brunner, who was actually a centaur named Chiron (the trainer of Jason and Heracles), explained about the reason Ms. Dodds attacked him. Zeus’s lightning bolt was missing. Zeus suspected Poseidon. So Zeus thought Percy was the thief; he had to bring the lightning bolt until summer solstice.
So Percy, Annabeth, and Grover go on a quest, trying to find the lightning bolt. They find out that Luke was a thief. They retrieved the bolt and headed to Olympus Mountain, which was 600th floor of Empire State Building. Olympus Mountain moves to the place where the major power was, and the place right now was Empire State Building. There, they meet 50-feet sized gigantic gods, who forgave them. Zeus also let Percy’s mother out of the underworld, who met the trio, but not saved because there were only 3 people who could get out).
The movie, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, was quite different from its book. The process was different; in the book, they go to the Pacific Ocean at the coast of California when they got the marbles, which were going to be used in order to get out of the Underworld. They had to travel around the country to get the three marbles. In the movie, Luke makes Percy a thief by hiding the bolt in his gift to Percy; the shield. However, in the book, Luke doesn’t. Also, in the book, Luke reveals himself as the servant of Kronos, while he doesn’t in the movie.
In the second book, the Sea of Monsters, Percy gets a chance to finish a whole school year without getting expelled. His best friend was Tyson, who was relatively enormous for a 7th grader. One period on the last day of school year was PE, where they played dodge ball along with the bully and his friends from Brooklyn. They were just visiting to see the school, since they were transferring here next year. Suddenly, the ‘friends suddenly turn into demons, who were there to kill Percy. They threw scorching cannon balls, which Percy dodged easily. The ball was heading straight to Tyson when Percy yelled a loud ‘no.’ Surprisingly, Tyson caught it with ease, threw the ball back at the demons, and took them down.
It was Annabeth who saved Percy. They were supposed to meet after school to watch a movie. Annabeth, Percy, and Tyson headed to Half-Blood Camp. There were 3 bronze bulls, fuming with hot smoke. Even with the reinforcements of the whole camp, they couldn’t defeat the bulls. Knowing that Tyson could beat them, Annabeth gives him the permission to come in. Like what he did in the gym class, he seemed to be okay, while touching extremely hot bronze bull.
Percy discovers that Tyson was a Cyclops; Cyclopes were one-eyed children of the gods. They were usually thrown off the Olympus Mountain, as Tyson was. They were good steelworkers; they made the Helm of Darkness for Hades, Thunderbolt for Zeus, and Trident for Poseidon. They were immune to fire.
Also, during the camp, Tyson was claimed as Poseidon’s son, too; he was Percy‘s half brother. He was angry at his father, having a Cyclops son. The whole camp was jeering at Percy, because he had a Cyclops half brother.
Every night, Percy dreamed of Grover, his satyr (half-human, half-goat) best friend. He was off to find Pan, the Lord of Wild. He disappeared after the war between Titans and Gods, with made the people to consider himself dead. However, being a nature lover, satyrs didn’t believe it; they went on quests to find Pan. For 2 millennia, many satyrs tried to find Pan. But nobody came back alive. Grover was trying to find Pan, too; now he was in danger. He was with a giant Cyclops, perhaps 10 feet tall. The Cyclops was confused, that Grover was a female Cyclops. Cyclops was trying to marry Grover, who he thought was a female Cyclops. Grover was sending messages to Percy through the empathy link between them.
This was a problem that a satyr was lost, but the major problem was that the camp’s borderline, the pine tree (which was Thalia Grace’s body, Zeus’s daughter) was poisoned. Percy told Annabeth, Chiron, and Tyson about the dreams. Clarisse was sent to accomplish the quest, which made Percy and Annabeth angry. Since Grover said in Percy’s dream that he was lured by the aura of power of the environment, Annabeth and Chiron assumed that whatever the source of the power was, it could heal the poisoned tree. So Annabeth, Tyson, and Percy got the permission to get out of the camp to join Clarisse with the quest.
When Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson get to the island, they discover Clarisse caught. Cyclops was planning to marry Grover, who was a female Cyclops in the Cyclops’s thought. They save Grover and Clarisse. With a Cyclops down, they also get the source of aura, the Golden Fleece. It was known to heal everything in environment near.
When Clarisse goes back to Camp Half-Blood with the Golden Fleece, the pine tree is healed perfectly. After a few days, something miracle happens. The Fleece worked too well, turning the pine tree back into Thalia.
In third book, Titan’s Curse, the camp was looking for reinforcements. Satyrs were sent all over the country. Grover, who was sent to a school in New Hampshire, said that he found two half-bloods. They had strong aura, like Thalia and Percy (who were the children of the Big Three, Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades). Their names were Nico and Bianca di Angelo. At the end of the dance party, Percy, Annabeth, and Grover takes Nico and Bianca. It turned out, that Mr. Thorn, the principal, was a demon who looked for half bloods’ lives. They were saved by Goddess Artemis, the goddess of hunt. However, during the fight, Annabeth falls into the lake under the cliff. Bianca joined the Hunters and Nico was taken to the camp.
Artemis, who sensed danger all the way in the West, left to hunt the demon. Meanwhile, the Hunters would stay in Camp Half-Blood. Percy dreamed the night when Hunters came. Annabeth and Artemis were taken somewhere by someone. Luke was there, too. Artemis and Annabeth were kidnapped by the army of Kronos.
             When Percy told Chiron about it, he said that Hunters and half bloods had to go on a quest in order to save Artemis. When Zoe, the lieutenant of Artemis, went to the attic of the Big House to listen to the Oracle, it said;
Five shall go west to the goddess in chains,
One shall be lost in the land without rain,
The bane of Olympus shows the trail,
Campers and Hunters combined prevail,
The Titan’s curse must one withstand,
And one shall perish by a parent’s hand.

Chiron decided to put 3 Hunters and 2 campers for the quest. Zoe picked 2 Hunters and herself; the team from Hunters was Zoe, Bianca, and Phoebe. When it was the campers’ turn, Grover, who was Artemis’s big fan (because she was a nature lover), volunteered. Thalia joined; now there was no spot for Percy to be in the quest. But Zoe said that no male hero could come, and Grover wasn’t technically a boy because he was a satyr. So it was decided that Zoe, Phoebe (the best tracker in the Hunters), Bianca, Grover, and Thalia was going to go on the quest, which depressed Percy. Partly, he wanted to save Annabeth himself, and he wanted to be proved as a hero once more.
Although he was not to go, Percy snuck out of the camp and followed the white van, which headed west. He was with his Pegasus Blackjack. When they reached D.C., where Bianca and Nico lived, they stopped and rested. Blackjack, the Pegasus, headed back to camp due to his extreme exhaustion. Zoe, Phoebe, Bianca, Thalia, and Grover went in the Smithsonian Air&Space Museum. Percy felt something strange and followed it. He ended up in Natural History Museum, where there was a huge set of T-Rex bones displayed. There were Luke, the mortal security guards, and somebody that called himself the general of Titans. He took teeth from T-Rex and planted the teeth. Then he poured some kind of liquid into the ground. Skeleton Warriors appeared.
Percy ran into the Smithsonian to let the five children know. They were happily touring, when a Nemean Lion appeared in the museum. It was huge. Percy killed the lion, by tricking the lion.
Zoe eventually accepted Percy in the quest. They headed west together, now 6 children (Zoe was actually over 2 millennia years old). During the trip, they find the junkyard of the gods, in New Mexico. Bianca lost her life, trying to save the children’s lives. Luckily, the other children survived, but Bianca was dead. They got to San Francisco, where there was Mountain of Despair. It once was a place where Titans ruled the world, but now it was ruined. At the top of the mountain, they find Atlas (the general of the Titans), Annabeth, and Artemis; Artemis was struggling under the weight of the sky.
At the peak of the mountain, they fight each other. Percy slipped the sky over Atlas, who groaned in pain. When they cheered with several high-fives, they discover Zoe down, who had a severe injury on her side. It was told by Zoe herself, that she was Atlas’s daughter. It was her father’s final blow that killed her. Artemis turned Zoe into a constellation. Artemis teleported to the Olympus safely and thanked the heroes and Hunter. She was just in time for the Winter Solstice. Winter the Council Meeting of the Gods. Thalia also joined the Hunters. Although the heroes and Hunters saved Artemis, it was proved, that the Titans were rising.
In the fourth book, the Battle of the Labyrinth, Percy and Annabeth, while playing a sport in the forest, notices a cave where they never have been. They reported to Chiron, who said that it was an entrance of the labyrinth of Daedalus. Recently, Kronos’s army tried to use the labyrinth to invade the camp. The camp would be in a great danger if Kronos’s army found out. They were now assigned a quest to suppress them from using the labyrinth.
Annabeth was to lead the quest, who brought Percy, Grover, and Tyson with her. They tried to find Daedalus’s workshop, which they failed. They realize that the mortals who could see through the mist could lead them through the labyrinth. Percy took Rachel Elizabeth Dare, who he met last year during the quest in Hoover Dam.
When they are led into the workshop of Daedalus, they learn that Quintus, who was Chiron’s assistant when Dionysus was away, was Daedalus. Quintus meant fifth in Latin, and Quintus was Daedalus’s 5th body.
When Percy and Annabeth (Tyson and Grover were separated from them, since Grover sensed Pan’s aura and went followed) are led to Mount St. Helens, which was to grant Hephaestus’s favor, Percy gets lost. Annabeth escaped safely back into the labyrinth, but St. Helens explodes; Percy is shot away. He lands in Ogygia, where Calypso was. Calypso healed Percy and sent him back to Camp Half-Blood.
When Percy arrives at Camp Half-Blood, they were in middle of a funeral of Percy, who was alive. They celebrate. However, there was not much time left. Luke and Kronos’s army were going to attack the camp. When they did, the camp safely defended and was now safe; but now they had to get ready for the bigger war.

D-2 to the End of GLPS

Hey! I have been in the GLPS for almost a month now, and I will be leaving in two days. At first, I thought that GLPS was just a place where you study for the whole time and have no fun. However, as time passed, I got to think that this kind of life, with my roommates and my friends was pretty fun, even though I still miss my family a lot. I think that life at KMLA should make me more matured...
So the camp ends on January 29th, and today is the 27th! So the camp is almost over, and unlike at the starting of the camp, I am kind of disappointed that the camp is going to be finished. I have made many friends and learned a lot, having a great time. I now alomst memorize the schedule for the week in this camp. I am really used to the life, and as I am getting more used to it, I am liking it more and more!
Anyway, I want to let you people know in GLPS that I would never forget you and GLPS. If you want to, you can keep in touch with this e-mail address yoojin98@aol.com  or you can text message or call me with my phone number if you know it. Thanks!

I Like GLPS!

I think that many of you know this viral video, with a little child saying three words that would change his life wholly. This got 27 million views on YouTube, even though I think that this was just a random bunch of words that was in the child's brain.
I like GLPS for many reasons; the food is good, the teachers are really smart, teach well, and interesting. I make many friends in club activities and in friends. I learn so many things! I love GLPS!

Blogging is Fun!

Hello people! I have been almost blogging for a month, and it had been fun. I assume that many of you are bloggers for yourselves, but if you are not, why don't you try it out for yourself? Click here to get started with your blogs! I recommend blogging for these reasons;

1) You can publish your thoughts easily with your computer or mobile devices. Once you publish, it will be around the internet in an instance. It will take months and years to publish a book!
2) It never gets lost. If your dog eats your work or your younger sibling rips everything, you cannot restore it. However, if you make a blog and leave everything in it, it will never be lost.

I hope to see all of you viewers as bloggers!

My Favorite Video Game Introduction-Football Manager

Today I am going to introduce you my favorite game, Football Manager. Football Manager is a worldwide famous game produced by Sports Interactive and Sega. It has been addictive to millions of people worldwide (Luckily, I am not addicted). It is just a simple game being a manager of a football club, but it is so realistic and is just the same like the real soccer. Everything that happens in real soccer happens in Football Manager, and everything that happens in Football Manager happens in the real soccer. It is so addictive that in Britain, it is called the divorce creator, and in Belgium it is banned legally because it is just too addictive. Also, the Football Manager staff is aware that their game is so addictive; they added the addict level in your profile, calculating your play time. I am only at the first level of this, and I hope I don't see something higher than that. I have been playing this game for almost two months, and still it has given me a lot of entertainment. I played with Barcelona for two seasons (you do not play the matches; you only watch). I really suggest this game to you people, unless you are allowed to play computer games for over an hour a day, because if you are able to play more, you will soon find yourself planning for your next game and making formations in your class. Thank you!

Book Review: The Murder on the Orient Express

Hello people! Today I want to give you people a book review about one of my favorite books titled 'Agatha Christie's Poirot Mysteries: The Murder on the Orient Express.' I read this book about two months ago, with my mother's suggestion. I had been reading a lot of non-fiction books that bored me and I got to dislike reading. But this book turned my minds back to reading and I read more of Agatha Christie's books such as 'The Murder on the Nile' and 'And then There Were None.' So I hope to share one of my favorite books with  you. I hope you enjoy this! (The video is the book's movie trailer)

In the famous Agatha Christie's mystery novel, 'The Murder on the Orient Express,' Poirot is the main character. He is one of the most famous detectives in the world, and is a pure genius that can solve every mystery. In this episode, Poirot is supposed to go to London for an emergency call from his senior officer in the detective firm that he works for. He takes the Orient Express, with about 20 passengers, and finds himself involved in a murder case. A man was murdered, probably very violently. None of the police could solve the mystery, but Poirot reached the conclusion that fitted every clues, true and false.
This book is a book of a pure ingenuity from Agatha Christie that entertained and amused millions and billions of people around the world. I mean, if Agatha Christie was not a piece that consists a lot of imagination and ingenuity, was she able to create this amazing and incredibly great story? The result of the cases are always unpredictable and incredible. However, these kinds of detective and mystery stories have been always making me entertained. I hope you are entertained with this review, and hopefully with the whole book!

Towards the Last Week of GLPS

Hello people! I am still in GLPS, in the last week of the camp. It just seems as if it was yesterday when I came to this camp, but I find GLPS with only a week left. I have been having a great time, with all the friends and roomates, PAs and TAs, teachers, and having fun. I am disappointed that GLPS is only for a week. Before I was at the camp in KMLA, I thought that this camp would be really boring with studying all the time. Studying part was true, but it wasn't just studying. I made so many new friends. I had so many fun in the club activities. I really had a great time. I hope I will have a chance to come to GLPS again. GLPS forever!

An Ode to the Red Cards

Dear red cards,

red and black, how you are colorful.
you have a very strong power, restricting the students to do something
if a student commits an extremely forbidden crime in the campus, he will be punished with your existence
when he gets to meet you, he will be disappointed and sad
unfortunately we have not met yet,
which makes me kind of happy rather than wanting to meet you,
we have looked at each other just by sight,
and we hope that we would not get to meet each other
country's smartest people are carrying you around
and willing to introduce you to me for many reasons
If I meet you thrice I will be running around the gym,
and if I meet you five times I will be at my home, kicked out of the camp
and if I never meet you I shall be happy
I saw some people who know you,
but I think they weren't much of satisfied
So even if I meet you, I hope it will be after GLPS
I wish to not to meet you,
                                                                                                     Yoo Jin Jang

My Daily Life at GLPS: Third Narrative

His name is Yoo Jin. He is one of the participants at the GLPS Camp, the Global Leadership Program for Students. He is in Class 22, and he seems excited about something. He was excited with his CA; his roommate, Ji Won, also does the same CA as him; basketball. They are one of the best players. They are huffing and puffing, running from the dormitory to the gym. They are extremely worn out when they meet the other basketball people. They tried to get in a same team, but it is a failure. But each of them has a great time at CA. And they run back to the dorm again.
They came back to the dorm, and they start to clean up their rooms; it is their duty because there is cleaning time on Sunday after CAs. Yoo Jin and Ji Won repeated this life cycle over and over again for the Sundays, but they thought that they were fun.

My Daily Life at GLPS: Second Narrative

Imagine that you are in a big school in a rural area. There are 385 students, including you. You are obliged to wake up sharply at 7 o' clock, you eat breakfast until 8, and take 8 hours of classes down the hill. You have to repeat that life cycle for a month, in your precious vacation time. But you think that it is still fun; you go skiing with your friends once a week, play sports in your CA, and play around with PAs, who are current or graduated students of the country's best school.
Yesterday, you did a lot of things. You are a part of the intensive program. You have two debates per week, a history presentation per week, and a lot of writing assignments. You think that you are wasting your time in Kangwondo studying for the whole vacation, but you realize that you learned a lot of things from GLPS, even thought it was just a week.

My Wacky Web Tale: A New Winter Sport

A New Winter Sport

Here is a great way to spend a winter day. First, put on a nice warm clown costume. You want to be sure you stay warm and insane. Next, fill a thermos full of hot steamy poly juice. Now you are ready to go snow tumbling!
Some people say only experts should go snow tumbling, but I think anyone can do it if you use a little common sense. I have heard a rumor that Ms. Hughey will be offering special snow tumbling classes after school at Yeomri Elementary School, but I don't know if that's true.
The best place to go snow tumbling is on a hill that is covered with snow. First you will want to clear away any leaves and slippers. Stand at the top of the hill and shout, “Hey, everybody, fall out below!” Then step onto a(n) ugliness, point yourself downhill, and off you go.
Snow tumbling is fun, healthy, and funny. And here is one more tip: everyone will be especially impressed if you can balance a(n) head on your head or play a(n) recorder fluteas you sail by.

Movie Review:Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 1

This time, I am going to write a movie review of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 1, which is the last series of the famous Harry Potter series.

First of all, I should say that Harry Potter is one of my favorite books, and maybe it will be the same to the others. I have read and watched the whole Harry Potter series for 5 times. But so far, this is the best I have met. I have watched this movie in a theater about three weeks ago. I was very excited. On the other hand, I was afraid. All the Harry Potter movies that I watched had disappointed me; especially the last one, HP and the Half-Blood Prince. But this one I can say, it is awesome. It may be arguably one of the best movies of the year.
So what is this whole Harry Potter thing? Why does everyone like it? It is about a boy named Harry, who is bullied in the house by his relatives (his parents are dead). He does not know that he is a wizard, until Hagrid takes him to the Hogwarts, the school of Wizardry and Witchcraft. This sequel consists of a battle between Harry and Voldemort, magic world's eternal enemy.
This movie has not disappointed me at all. It has caught most of the details. It has such a great graphic that can cover all the 'Harry Potter stuff.' I really think that all of you people should watch it. It is really a great movie. Let us all watch this awesomely great movie from the best book in the history of the world!

Highrise: Compare and Contrast Essay

Hey guys! I am Yoo Jin, back again with a compare&contrast essay about Highrise; it is about suburbans evolving into urban areas, with 'highrise,' which means tall apartments and buildings. I have chose to compare myself to Donna of Chicago, who lives in one of the 14 buildings. It is a documentary movie called Highrise. You can visit here to explore the website just like me. It is pretty cool, having all those interactive things. Please read it, and feel free to make comments.

Donna lives in a highrise in Chicago. At least she used to. Her family, with a lot of sisters, lived in one building. She misses going up and down the stairs to meet her sisters and ask, 'What ya doin', girl?' And her grandmother would always come down and say, 'Turn the music down!' Now, with the building demolished, she lives in a shelter that is an apartment. Her grandmother is dead.
Donna lives in a pretty harsh life. She got shot when she was young, her son got shot even when he was innocent, and saw a lot of people dying. It is a very dangerous town. Her building that she used to live in, a highrise, is demolished. Now everything is hopeless.
My life is very comparable to hers. It is a fact that I also live in a highrise. I live in the 29th floor. However, my life has been quite stable, without any great sadness but only happiness. The city that I live in is safe and peaceful, unlike the town that Donna lives in, where people are shot even when they are innocent. When I explored her house, I was so surprised, how she was living in poor and dangerous conditions. now i am very thankful for my life.
Also, there are different things that I see out of my windows. As I live in Seoul, I usually see Seoul N. Tower from my room, Han River in my parents' room, and even Incheon from the living room. Of course, I see a lot of high buildings from every window. But from Donna's window, I see demolished building, a school, and a couple of buildings. I think, from this, that Seoul and Donna's town is completely different.
In conclusion, I think that we live in a completely different environment, as she lives in a highrise where there are a bunch of gangsters, dirty streets, and an empty field, while I live in a condition where I see a very developed urban area which is one of the biggest cities in the world.

History Presentation-Week 2

Hey guys! I'm here with my second history presentation!

-------------------------------------Jang, Yoo Jin-Class 22----------------------------------------------
2011.1 GLPS History Presentation-second week
Columbus’s Discovery

I.                   Sea travel in that era (Age of Discovery)
II.                Other travelers and explorations
III.             Spherical Earth’s History
IV.             Crew’s determination
V.                How Columbus’s discovery affected the Renaissance and Europe

1.      In that era in which Columbus lived, a lot of explorations and discoveries were made. Many people, such as Henry the Navigator, Vasco de Gama, or Ferdinand Magellan went on explorations. They usually used boats with sail, so that they needed wind to move. They could face lots of difficulties such as doldrums, scurvy, food decay, or storms.
2.      There were many explorers such as Prince Henrique (Henry the Navigator), Vasco de Gama, and Magellan. Prince Enrique went along the West Coast of Africa with his sailors. He found ivory in Cote D’Ivore, or Ivory Coast, and earned a lot of money from it. Vasco de Gama went around South Africa to reach India, creating a direct route to India from Europe. Magellan was the first person ever to go around the whole globe, even though he died during the journey and the journey was finished 70 weeks after Magellan’s death.
3.      Claim that Earth is spherical began in Ancient cultures. Great philosophers such as Plato guessed that the Earth was spherical, but that was just a pure guess. However, scientists such as Galileo and Copernicus scientifically proved the Earth as spherical, but such a claim was a contradiction against Christianity, which was the religion that almost all of the Europe believed at that time.
4.      There were 90 people in the crew of Columbus. There were doctors, cabin boys, able sailors, pilots, and so forth. They were determined to help Columbus to find the new route to India (ended up finding West Indies). There were three reasons; 1. Money, 2. Fame, 3.  Liberty. They could earn money and fame. It is being told that most of Columbus’s crew was consisted of jailors who were supposed to be killed, so they definitely earned liberty.
5.      It got them land; they were proud; there was a new source of money; and so forth.

In the world, the humanity has been creating a lot of digital machines. They are useful and efficient, while analog is old and hard. You find yourself texting, calling, and saving, while you write, talk, and memorize in analog. You use machines and satellites in digital ages, but you use your hands and write letters in analog ages.

When you are born, you are new and pure. The baby is coming, and the baby and his mother are struggling and crying. Is it a boy or a girl? When you die, you are a sick, old grandparent with a disease.

I chose this topic, because today at KMLA, it was snowing. In Summer, it is hot and misty. You swim, sweat, and fan yourself. Flowers and jungles bloom. In Winter, it is cold and dry. It is snowing and galing. So you try to heat yourself up. Animals hibernate, and there is a lot of snow in the Winter.

My History Presentation- Lorenzo de Medici

Lorenzo de Medici's Portrait
Lorenzo de Medici was an Italian who lived at the peak of the Renaissance period. He was born on the New Year's Day of 1449, and died in the year of 1492. He was one of the Medicis, who later became the royal family of Italy. He was an Italian statesman, but was a virtual leader of Florence, controlling Florence indirectly. He did a lot of things that were heroic in the wars and in the politics, while devoting his whole life trying to develop the Renaissance, or Rebirth.
When he was young, he went to a lot of diplomatic and political missions commissioned by his parents. His grandfather was Cosimo de Medici, who founded the Medici Bank. Banking was able to raise the Medici family to a very vital, rich, and famous family. Cosimo de Medici spent a lot of his wealth on philanthropy and politics. Lorenzo de Medici's parents were amateur poets and artists.
Lorenzo de Medici ruled Florence indirectly but strongly as a virtual leader. Pazzis, the rivals of the Medicis, were envious. So they stabbed Lorenzo and his brother Giuliano. This incident is called the Pazzi Conspiracy. While Giuliano lost his life in the conspiracy, Lorenzo was able to survive. Lorenzo de Medici took down the archbishop and killed most of the Pazzis, which resulted in Vatican's wrath. Vatican made an ally with Kind Ferdinand of Naples. Later, King Ferdinand's son led the invasion at Florence. When the war dragged on., Lorenzo negotiated with Naples by himself, and marked the end of the war bravely. This gave him much power. Later in his politics, Lorenzo de Medici concentrated on maintaining the peace between the Italian states and with the other countries.
Lorenzo de Medici also devoted his life trying to develop the Renaissance. He even lived with Michelangelo for several years. He expanded his grandfather's collection of poems and artworks, creating Medici Library. He also tried to merge the ideas of humanism and Plato's ideas.
Shortly before he died, the Medici Bank collapsed because of bad loans, etc. He died without any specific reasons. Now he is buried in Medici Chapel designed by Michelangelo. It is being told that Lorenzo de Medici died at the dawn of discovery, since Columbus discovered American continent 6 months later. Thank you for attending my presentation.
